Elementary School Construction

Hamilton Downtown Islamic School is a full-time elementary Islamic school (JK-8) in the core of downtown Hamilton, Ontario that serves the larger community.

Construction of 6 new classrooms in addition to the two classrooms that have already been completed is underway and is expected to be completed by the end of July in shaa Allah, in time for the school opening in September, 2017.

The initial total capacity will be 100 students with approximately 15 students per class.

Donations are still needed to help cover the cost of the 6 new classrooms:

  • Flooring (completed)
  • Bathroom renovations (completed)
  • HVAC unit and duct work (completed)
  • Sprinklers and fire alarms (completed)
  • Electrical (completed)
  • Walls, drywall, and paint (completed)
  • Ceiling tiles (completed)
  • Classroom furniture (completed)

Update: AlhamdulliAllah, the construction is complete and the classes began in September of 2017. The school is still in need of donations to help cover the ongoing costs, including:

  • Student subsidies and sponsorships
  • Teacher salaries
  • Janitorial staff
  • Classroom supplies
  • Computers and tablets
  • Smartboards
  • Ongoing maintenance
